Anthony  Wilkin  ( ca. 1877  -  05.1901 )

Anthony Wilking was a British anthropologist and archaeologist. A Cambridge student, he took part in the university's Anthropological Expedition to Torres Straits and New Guinea. He was a gifted photographer and draftsman. In 1899, he spent a winter in Egypt with William M. Flinders Petrie. In spring 1900, he went with David Randall-MacIver to Algeria, in order to investigate the then-supposed relationship between the Berbers and the prehistoric Egyptians.

In the winter of 1900–1901, he excavated the prehistoric cemeteries a and b at el-Amra with David Randall-Maclver, shortly before passing away of illness in Cairo.
