Material : Greywacke

Preservation : Complete, repaired

Preservation information :

Small fragment missing. One horn damaged.

Description

Rhomboid palette with a horns emblem on top of one of the extremities. The palette is angular at the ends of the shorter axis and has a pointed extremity. Two holes, intended for inlays, are drilled below the horn emblem. They probably represent the eyes.

There is a number of small notched holes near the extremity opposite the horns emblem, which seem unlikely to be accidental or use-related pitting.

Object use

The palette has been used, causing shallow hollowing in the central area of at least one face.
