Tomb b143 was dated before SD 56 (Randall-McIver & Mace 1902: 20) and to Naqada IIB (Hendrickx 1989: II, 298).

Material : Greywacke

Preservation : Almost complete

Two joining fragments of the palette are preserved but not re-attached; one end broken off.

Description

The rhomboid palette is rounded at the ends of the shorter axis and has rounded extremities. The contour of the palette may have been partially reworked.

 

Object use

The palette is deeply hollowed by use in the central area. There is also picking.
