, Settlement HK25, E-I-1.

2005 : Hierakonpolis Expedition excavation.

Egypt (05-302).

Date : Naqada IA–IIB

General range of C-ware production

Material : Nile silt (Painted; incised)

Preservation : Sherd

Decoration preservation : Mostly faded

Preservation information :

The surface of the base is heavily eroded.

Description

The paint applied on all the sherds presumed to have belonged to the same vessel is distinctively pinkish-creamy in hue. It is possible that the bottom of the bowl was not slipped.

Decoration

Only the remains of three concentric lines along bottom of the vessel's interior wall can be clearly seen; there are faint traces of further designs above.

On the outside, a vertical zigzag was incised either when the vessel was complete or before the base broke to its current state.
