Description
The paint applied on all the sherds presumed to have belonged to the same vessel is distinctively pinkish-creamy in hue.
Decoration
A hippopotamus, facing right, is painted below the rim; the two ears are indicated at the top of the head and the animal has a short tail at the back; its body is crosshatched. Behind the hippopotamus are the remnants of a chevron-design filled with parallel strokes. Taking into consideration other sherds that likely belong to the same vessel, it can be suggested that a pair of chevron-bands were running around the whole interior of the vessel, with several hippopotamuses painted between some of the tips.
On the outside, faint traces suggest the presence of parallel oblique lines (top left to bottom right).
