Decoration preservation : Mostly faded
Preservation information :
One sherd is missing at the rim. The paint is poorly preserved and darkened in places.
Description
The vessel may be an original P-ware bowl. The paint has a rather unusual appearance, brightly white in places, greyish or darkened in other places.
Decoration
The white-painted decoration is no doubt a modern creation. A series of downturned triangles filled with chevrons hand around the rim. Below is what appears to be a continuous double horizontal wavy line. A similar pair of wavy lines seems to be visible nearer the bottom of the bowl; between the two pairs is at least one animal figure, likely intended as a turtle (or, as suggested by Brémont (2023: 9), a spider) seen in top view. Other animal figures are likely repersented in the same area, such as a snake (?) behind the turtle.
Two sets of three parallel, wavy lines run across the bottom of the bowl and cross one another at right angle, creating four compartments, in each of which is the figure of a fish.
