Cemeteries excavted by Hermann Juncker in 1909–1910. The area was in the ownership of the Lüthy family who farmed the land. Located between Maadi to the north and Helwan to the south, this area is today entirely built over. Juncker identified two cemeteries: an eastern one (area O), and a western one (areas N, S, and SS). An irrigation canal had cut through the west cemetery and a technical bulding had been erected over its footprint prior to any archaeological work being undertaken.
