Torgny  Säve-Söderbergh  ( 29.06.1914  -  21.05.1998 )

Torgny Säve-Söderbergh was was a Swedish Egyptologist. He took part in the Swedish excavation at Abu Ghalib in 1935 and famously let the Scandinavian Joint Expedition to Sudanese Nubia (1961–1964); he was later the field director at Nag Hammadi (1975). He led an academic carreer at the University of Uppsala, first as lecturer (1942–1950) then as professor of Egyptology (1950–1980). He also served as Director of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Uppsala in 1950–1980.
