Mahmud Ahmed Said  Diraz  ( 1890  -  14.02.1926 )

Often known simply as Said Ahmed, he was a skilled Qufti who worked with George A. Reisner since a young age. He picked up an interest in photography and acquired the necessary skills to be granted the responsability of excavations photoraphic recording and processing, even training others in the technique. He followed Reisner all the way to Sudan and took part in many excavations across Egypt.

He notably directed fieldwork at Mesaid in 1913, working alongside Louis Caulton West.
