Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis  Budge  ( 27.07.1857  -  23.11.1934 )

A British Egyptologist and orientalist, E.A. Wallis Budge was a Cambridge graduate. He worked at the British Museum, first as assistant Keeper (1883–1892), then as Keeper of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities (1894–1924). He travelled to Egypt, the Sudan, and Mesopotamia on several occasions to acquire antiquities for the British Museum. He excavated at Aswan but was more active further south (Gebel Barkal, the Island of Meroe, Semna, etc). He was a prolific writer of both articles and monographs.
