The bottom of the interior is not slipped nor polished.
Decoration
The published drawing does not show the decoration very clearly. It consists at least of downturned triangles filled with chevrons; there seems to be a vertical group of downturned chevrons and other additional lines.

Quibell (1905) listed the provenance of this artefact as Saghel el-Baglia, without suggesting that this provenance had been used erroneously, instead of Gebel el-Tarif. This is however likely the case. See de Morgan (1896, 1897).
