Decoration

The decorative space is divided by vertical lines into several panels set between the rim and a concentric line running around the bottom of the bowl. Two panels placed next to one another are filled with polka dots; the opposite side seems to have been decorated in a similar way. Between these polka-dots panels, one side is lost; the other contains a single hippopotamus figure, facing right. It has a rounded body and four short legs; its tail is indicated at the back and its incisors protrude from the mouth. Its body is decorated with chevrons and other lines.

Friedman 1981: pl. 12B.
