Decoration

The upper part of the decoration consitst, one side of the vessel, of four triangles filled with horizontal hatching and one filled with chevrons; on the opposite side are four upturned triangles filled with chevrons, alternating with vertical plant motifs, as well as two other downturned triangles, one filled with oblique parallel lines, the other with a single chevron. A boat, seen in top view, stretches along the wider diameter of the vessel. It is filled with a single line in its middle, crossed by shorter perpendicular lines. Human figures are not shown, but the boat is manned by seven oars on one side and at least five on the other side, painted betweeen the downturned triangles. A large quadruped, likely a giraffe, is depcited next to the boat and seemingly stands on it as its legs are connected to it. The animal has a long neck , short tail, and forward-pointing "horns"; its body is decorated with parallel vertical wavy lines.
