Nélie Jacquemart-André ( 25.07.1841 - 15.05.1912 )
Nélie Jaquemart-André was a French artist and collector. As the wife of André Jaquemart, she built up her own collection, separated at first from that of her husband; the two collections were then progressively merged and she inherited all her husband's wealth and possessions following his death. She bequeathed her collections and properties to the Institut de France, which led to hte creation of the Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris and Musée Chaalis in the Oise region.
