Description

Ivory tusk which has at the bottom an hippopotamus carved figurine, probably made form hippopotamus ivory. The tusk not complete, the rim is missing. The hippopotamus figurine is quite complete, as we can see the eyes, ears and the nostrils are represented by small protuberances. It has four shiort legs but no tail, and the belly is slightly rounded. The tusk is hollowed.
