Description
Seated frog-shaped vessel. Made of a multicolored stone, dominated by black but with a large brown section on the bottom half and small white flecks across the vessel that may be damage. Rim slightly damaged and flat against body without lip. Lug handles are horizontal and sit high up on the sides of the vessel. The tailbone is defined; the back end of the vessel comes to something of a point..
Decoration
Eye inlays were once present on the vessel but have been lost. Eye sockets look sideways. Sharp, well-defined eyebrow ridges. Four toes on front legs; toes on back legs probably not present though unclear from photos. The front legs protrude some distance from the vessel but the back legs are in a squat position and tightly incised. The vessel rests on its front legs which are folded beneath it.
