Preservation excellent ca. 1930; may no longer exist. Missing head and forelegs are an intentional part of the vessel's design.
Description
Frog-shaped seated vessel that appears intentionally unfinished, representing only the back three-quarters of the animal with head and front legs not present. Back legs carved. Rim has no lip and is at middle of the vessel. Lug handles sit at mid-height below rim.
Decoration
The vessle has carved back legs but no front legs. There is no head and therefore, unlike other vessels of this type, no space for eye inlays or other decorative facial features.
