Description
Fragment of a rhomboid palette. The complete shape cannot be recognised.
Decoration
Decorated on both sides with a nearly identical, incised zoomorphic figure. The animals face toward the nearest tip of the palette, and only the lower part of their legs and tail are preserved. The legs end in short, frontward pointing 'feet' and each tail ends in a three-line tuft of hair. On one side, a small portion of the backside of the animal is preserved, showing that the body was decorated with incised crosshatching or chevrons. It is difficult to identify the species intended based on these scant remains, but it may have been a bovid.
Object use
No obvious traces of use.
