, Archaeological context unknown.

1897 : Louis Charles Lortet excavation.

Lyon, Musée des Confluences, 90000055.

Date : Naqada I–II (?)

General range of rhomboid palettes production.

Material : Greywacke

Preservation : Complete

Description

The rhomboid palette is angular at the ends of the shorter axis and has pointed extremities. There is a perforation near to one of the extremities; because of its small size, it can be suggested that this artefact is a miniature model of an average-size palette, perhaps used as a pendant or amulette.

Decoration

At the extremity opposite to the perfortation, one side is decorated with three parallel, oblique, incised lines.

Object use

No obvious traces of use.
