Material : Nile silt (Painted)

Preservation : Almost complete

Decoration preservation : Faded

Preservation information :

Several chips are missing at the rim. The paint has almost entirely disappeared, leaving a ghost impression on the background. the surface is heavily eroded in parts.

Description

Only the inside wall of the vessel is slipped and polished; the bottom and the exterior surfaces were left unslipped and unpolished, but only smoothed, with finger and scraping marks remaining.

Decoration

There is a concentric line at the rim, which is mostly lost. Below is a series of nine groups of oblique parallel lines that hand from that line; each group has between five and eight lines. The painter alternated groups of long and of short lines, with two groups of short lines placed next to one another. The bottom of the interior was seemingly coated white.

The exterior and base was entirely coated white.
