Decoration
The decoration of the outside of the vessel is organised in six vertical panels. Four consist of groups of downturned chevrons with gaps between them; they usually contain 4, 5, or six chevrons, although the topmost one consists of between two and four chevrons; the number of chevrons in the lowermost groups is unknown. The remaining two vertical panels are located on opposite sides of the vessel. One consists of four donwtunred chevrons at the top, and of a long vertical plant stem with closely spaced straight leaves on either sides; before the part where the decoration is lost, it is clear that there was a gap in the leaves, but that the stem continues further down. The remaining panel is more unusual, with a possible man-made object depicted in the upper part where there is no chevrons; it consists first of two parallel vertical lines joined by a series of horizontal strokes; the two lines then join togetether and extend further down; after a short gap, a series of closely spaces downturned chevrons similar to the leaves of the plant form a group of at least six lines; there is a long gap before similar lines are again visible in the lower part of the vessel.
On the inside of the rim, the decoration consists of three of four groups of vertical lines.
