Only the upper part of the interior rim is slipped; below, the sides are smoothed, by the bottom was left rough, with fingertip marks, which is unusual for open vessels.
Decoration
Two main motifs, amost identical, occupy most of the decorative space on the outside and are placed on opposite sides of the vessel. They may, potentially, be a depiction of necklaces. Each consists of four downturned chevrons, decorated at their tip with a fairly large disc, while smaller polka dots ang along the lines; in a way, they may represent the beads. At the top, a horizontal line join these chevrons together in two sets – this horizontal line is not present over the innermost chevron – and hang down at right angle at both extremities. Both hanging parts are decorated with semi-circular designs and end in a loop, perhaps representing the strings and clasps of the necklace.
Between these two peculiar motifs are more usual decoration elements. At the top, they are separated from one another by two donwturned triangles filled with chevrons; at the bottom are two series of three upturned triangles each, one where the triangles are filled with chevrons, the other with parallel horizontal lines. On both sides, an additional motif is painted imediately to the left of the 'necklaces': one is a plant design consisting of a vertical stem and short oblique leaves, the other, not perfectly preserved, seems to be an oblique series of two connected, filled in triangles poining to the right.
On the inside, the upper part of the rim is decorated with a continuous series of alternating downturned and upturned filled in triangles.
