Field Museum of Natural History - Chicago

The museum was firtst named the Columbian Museum of Chicago, having been created for the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893. Edward E. Ayer was behind this initiative which was in large parts financed by Marshall Fields. In 1905, the museum was renamed the Field Museum of Natural History.
